Herts senior leader Bonnie awarded MBE by Prince William

A postgraduate student from the University of Hertfordshire has been awarded an MBE for her charitable services.
Dr Bonnie Kwok achieved the Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Senior Leader Apprentice from the University of Hertfordshire Business School in February. She is now continuing her association with Herts by doing an MBA.
But she went one better than an MBA this month, when the Prince of Wales, His Royal Highness Prince William, awarded her an MBE at Windsor Castle.
Bonnie said:
“This recognition celebrates my 23 years of volunteer service with the CCACIC London Hackney Chinese Community School. Through the power of Cantonese and Mandarin, we have fostered intergenerational learning and strengthened community cohesion.
“I dedicate this award to my incredible CCACIC Family and everyone at our Chinese School, whose unwavering efforts continue to advance the cause of Chinese education. This achievement belongs to all of us, and I am truly grateful to be part of such a remarkable community. Together, we can make a difference and build stronger, more connected societies”.
Bonnie is the Business Development Manager for the Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service (GCSPS). Her role supports the economic growth of the Greater Cambridge region, utilising her expertise in commercialisation, urban design, town planning, architecture and youth engagement.
She added:
“A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to my incredible tutors at Herts and the entire Senior Leader Apprentice teaching team for their exceptional teaching and for fostering an environment where we could exchange ideas and learn from each other.”
Dean of Hertfordshire Business School, Damian Ward, said:
“We’re incredibly proud of all our recent graduates on the Senior Leader Higher Apprenticeship course which is aimed at leaders with senior management responsibility wanting to apply their skills to their organisational challenges and become transformative leaders, and to enhance their careers.
“But Bonnie has achieved something really special on the theme of diversity and inclusion which is something precious to our University and Herts Business School with our international outlook. We are delighted she is continuing to study for the Master in Business Administration (MBA) with us.”
Among the many well-known alumni of Herts Business School are Frederick Afrifa who recently appeared on BBC's The Apprentice, rapper, broadcaster and author Isaac Borquaye (Guvna B), and Sarmila Varatharaj, the youngest Deputy Mayor in the history of the London Borough of Wandsworth.
