Career Success
Danielle has enjoyed a stellar professional football career and currently plays for FA Women’s Super League (WSL) club Brighton & Hove Albion. Danielle has also played for Arsenal, Reading, and the England national team. One of her career highlights was scoring the winning goal for Arsenal to beat Chelsea in the 2016 FA Cup Final.
She has shown incredible resilience in twice recovering from major knee injuries to continue her career in the top flight FA WSL where she currently plays for Brighton & Hove Albion. But it was whilst playing for Arsenal that she took advantage of the link between the football club and the University of Hertfordshire, and came to us to study Physiotherapy.
Life at Herts
Danielle exhibited true dedication to her studies and says, 'I was studying alongside training part-time with Arsenal. Balancing my studies and football commitments was always a struggle but helped me with time keeping and organisational skills.'
The juggle was all worthwhile though and she says 'My graduation ceremony was a wonderful day for me and my family. I was happy to see all the hard work was worth it in the end. My plan for the future is to continue playing football professionally and then see where life takes me from there!'
For people wanting to follow in Danielle's footsteps, her advice is to: 'Embrace every moment. Be prepared to work hard and you’ll reap the benefits.'
