Derek Heppenstall

Derek is a Teacher of the Deaf who has worked for many years modifying examination language for Awarding Organisations (AOs). He has represented the British Association of Teacher of the Deaf (BATOD) in liaising with the AOs and compiled the BATOD Language of Examinations booklet.

He is a Chartered Educational Assessor and has worked for CIEA to prepare and present their course for Oral Language Modifiers. He has also acted as an external adviser for Ofqual’s research into language modification.
