EYFS Lead Assessor Support Programme

'Learning to lead assessment in the EYFS, primary, secondary, further education and skills sectors.'

The CIEA views the role of the Lead Assessor as an individual or individuals within an EYFS setting who provide leadership in establishing robust assessment practices and processes across the whole setting. It is envisaged that Lead Assessors will go on to achieve qualifications offered by the CIEA with some ultimately qualifying as Chartered Educational Assessors.

Overall the programme has brought together all aspects of the assessment process and I think this is how assessment should be seen - as a holistic model with each different aspect all forming a holistic view of strengths and areas for development. Assessment should be seen as part of the progress and attainment for children not just a measure of it. I feel much more confident in this and how to communicate this effectively in my school. Programme Overview
The programme provides a range of benefits to EYFS settings, educators, and children including:

Programme Structure
The programme will cover key aspects of the assessment process delivered to participants through a blend of online learning theory modules delivered by the ClEA, real-life examples of how certain aspects are currently being implemented in EYFS schools and settings along with suggested activities to support putting theory into practice in your own context.
Online tutorials
The online tutorials will cover key themes in educational assessment designed to present a package to support EYFS educators to understand the process of setting and maintaining effective progression, achievement and attainment and ensuring fairness to all pupils.

Support
