EYFS Lead Assessor Support Programme

'Learning to lead assessment in the EYFS, primary, secondary, further education and skills sectors.'

The CIEA views the role of the Lead Assessor as an individual or individuals within an EYFS setting who provide leadership in establishing robust assessment practices and processes across the whole setting. It is envisaged that Lead Assessors will go on to achieve qualifications offered by the CIEA with some ultimately qualifying as Chartered Educational Assessors.

Overall the programme has brought together all aspects of the assessment process and I think this is how assessment should be seen - as a holistic model with each different aspect all forming a holistic view of strengths and areas for development.  Assessment should be seen as part of the progress and attainment for children not just a measure of it. I feel much more confident in this and how to communicate this effectively in my school. September 2023 delegate
