The MA Creative AI and Screen course will enable you to:

Throughout the course you will be exposed to new ways of working with generative AI, ensuring your creative control is driving new visual and auditory outputs that seek an audience. You will also build on your knowledge with answering questions of ethics, control and social impact, and learn from a range of contemporary artists and designers already incorporating AI.
You will investigate and experience key components of this new industrial revolution such as using language models, neural networks and general adversarial networks as well as learn how to train AI on your own work, examine and assess hallucinations and ground truth. You will also learn how to build up artistic resilience and continuously improve your own projects and resources.

What will I study?
The MA Creative AI and Screen degree starts by introducing a flurry of short projects to build up resilience and skills. You will have the opportunity to look at a range of available tools and assess limitations and bias. You will broaden your creativity with a series of projects around text and image, helping you connect your skillsets with this new area. In the first semester you will also look at current debates and how critical media theory maps onto generative AI and the importance of workflows and pipelines to achieve project goals.
In the second semester, with the development of your skills and knowledge, you will engage with an interdisciplinary project with animators, VFX and games students and start to prepare for the major study in the third semester. You’ll work on a unique interdisciplinary project and a live brief to push your skills and collaborative abilities. The major study will allow you to target the practice towards your own preferred career outcome.
You will have the opportunity to show your progress each week to your tutor and peers, and sometimes to industry too. You will learn to present progress and develop ideas incrementally through extensive collaboration, while also building essential team skills.
