About the course

Our LLM International Commercial Law and Arbitration degree is the ideal course to equip you for a specialist career in the area of international commerce. The combination of compulsory and optional modules will ensure that you build a solid ground within your chosen specialism. 

You’ll study two compulsory modules: International Commercial Arbitration and International Commercial Law (your compulsory module).  

International Commercial Law covers topics such as the choice of law and jurisdiction clauses, the different types of international contracts and their respective implications for the parties involved, the international conventions applicable to international commerce, shipping law, the role of documentation, and finance and marine insurance.  

The International Commercial Arbitration module will examine arbitration as an alternative means of alternative dispute resolution. The role and appointment of arbitrators, arbitral awards, the arbitral procedure and the challenges to the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards are some of the topics you will study. 

This course is ideal for students with an interest in the area of international commerce. The combination of compulsory and optional modules will ensure that you build a solid ground within your chosen specialism.
