Our health and social care CPD and short courses are for qualified healthcare practitioners seeking to undertake further training to advance their careers in nursing, advanced clinical practice, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), advanced paramedic practice, advanced physiotherapy, advanced social work, medical imaging and radiation sciences, and advanced midwifery.

Our CPD courses aim to enhance patient care, improve health and social care outcomes, and meet workforce transformation needs. They advance practice in various areas, including leadership, supporting practice education, coaching, independent prescribing, and other fields of interest. By completing a health and social care CPD course, you will gain valuable knowledge, facilitating career progression in your area of expertise. They can also significantly expand your professional network and many of our CPD courses also lead to certifications or qualifications, which can greatly enhance your reputation and professional credibility.

Types of courses

  • Short courses and study days: We offer a variety of credit-bearing and non-credit-bearing short courses. Credit-bearing courses provide formal recognition, while non-credit-bearing courses offer flexible delivery options tailored to your needs. Both are excellent ways to quickly enhance your knowledge and understanding of your chosen topic.
  • Standalone modules: These modules are offered independently of our existing degree programs and are designed to focus on specific areas. They provide targeted education and training, allowing you to deepen your expertise in a particular subject without committing to a full degree program. For example, you could complete Coaching Skills for Leading or Leadership Education and Developing Others as a standalone module.
  • Degrees: We offer both full-time and part-time degree programs, allowing you to earn a recognised award such as a Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) or Master of Science (MSc). Various exit awards are also available, providing flexibility to suit your academic and professional goals.
  • Post-qualifying degrees and modules: Our offerings include both undergraduate and postgraduate options. You can choose to study individual modules as part of an existing post-qualifying degree, or you can study a full course. While most CPD courses are part-time, some are available full-time, catering to various schedules. Part-time study allows professionals to balance work and education, while full-time options enable quicker completion.
