Preregistration Trainee Pharmacists

About the course

The University of Hertfordshire offers a comprehensive pharmacist pre-registration training programme of 9 study days aiming to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully pass your registration assessment and have the best start to your professional practice.

What is the pharmacist pre-registration training programme all about?

The University of Hertfordshire's pharmacist pre-registration training programme is designed according to the GPhC pharmacist performance standards and the registration assessment framework. The comprehensive training programme at UH enables you to strengthen the knowledge and skills you learn every day in your workplace and prepares you to successfully pass your registration assessment.

What will I learn?

The training programme covers the key clinical topics in the registration assessment including cardiovascular disease, CNS conditions and treatments, responding to symptoms, law and ethics, using information resources, First Aid training and much more. It also provides extensive pharmaceutical calculations training and ample opportunities for pre-registration exam training through frequent mock assessment.

We understand the pressures of the pre-registration year and the year-long preparation for the registration assessment, so we designed this course with a particular focus on exam preparation and a rich content of clinical pharmacy knowledge.

What will the programme be like?

The training programme consists of 9 study days. The training will be held at the University of Hertfordshire, College Lane Campus hosting the school of pharmacy’s state of the art simulation and mock pharmacy suite. Our training programme consists of interactive sessions and frequent pre-reg style mock assessments. It also allows you to learn with and from other pre-registration pharmacists. You can access the learning & teaching materials and our Learning Resource Centre (including Athens access) online.
