KTP Kick Start Programme

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) have connected forward-thinking businesses with world-class academics to deliver business-led innovation projects for almost 50 years. Our part-funded KTP Kick Start programme, supported by HEIF, helps to innovate and grow businesses, improving competitiveness and productivity in partnership with an academic expert at Herts.

The programme

The KTP Kick Start programme is designed to support UK-based small, medium, and large companies that require assistance in developing new, innovative products, services, and/or technologies, and that wish to collaborate with Herts to meet specific objectives.

This programme will bring cutting-edge research into your business and guide towards innovation goals—critical in an ever-changing world.

What are the benefits to members of the programme?

  • access to £6,000 (with a £1,000 contribution from your company) worth of academic consultancy from an expert at Herts to explore how pioneering research could transform your business
  • our expert will spend time on-site to thoroughly understand your business's challenges
  • working collaboratively, we will identify a core strategic need within your business and leverage the ground-breaking knowledge, technology, and skills at Herts to address this. A clear KTP or Management KTP project will then be identified for your business.

Successful applicants will access a package of support worth up to £6k with a £1k contribution from your company.

This tailored package includes a short-term project delivered for up to two months with the purpose of developing and testing an idea.

Expected Outputs: All selected companies will be supported to develop, test and/or refine a project idea to a KTP application ready level.
