We welcome applicants from around the world and often accept local country qualifications in line with the course entry requirements. If you have qualifications from the USA, we can review your eligibility for your programme of interest. Just send in copies of your academic transcripts and awards when you make your application. Alongside our UK team, we also have representatives in your country who can assist you with your application.

In order to support our long-term commitment and close relationships in the USA, our staff provide tailored counselling and assistance to prospective students and their parents on all aspects of studying at the University of Hertfordshire and the UK, including advice on application processes and documentation, pre-departure briefings, assistance with visa applications and help with securing University accommodation.

Regional qualifications and entry requirements

For the majority of our programmes, we typically accept the following qualifications from USA:

FoundationHigh School Diploma with a minimum overall average of 2.0SAT or ACT
Undergraduate (year 1)

High School Diploma with a minimum overall average of 3.0, with one of the following;

  • 2 Advanced Placement (AP) with a minimum score of 3.0

OR

  • SAT One with a balanced score of 1600 (old SAT) or 1070 (new SAT)

OR

  • ACT with a composite score of 23

A degree with a specific A Level subject requirement would need an honours class/college credit class in that specific subject.

SAT 550 in each band or ACT 25 in each band
Undergraduate (year 2/3)There are no agreed progression routes, but if you're interested in applying to the University after part completion of a degree or completion of a diploma, applications will be individually assessed.SAT 550 in each band or ACT 25 in each band
Pre-mastersCompletion of a 4 year bachelors degree with less than GPA 2.5 out of 4SAT 550 in each band or ACT 25 in each band
