We welcome applicants from around the world and often accept local country qualifications in line with the course entry requirements. If you have qualifications from Macau, we can review your eligibility for your programme of interest. Just send in copies of your academic transcripts and awards when you make your application. Alongside our UK team, we also have representatives in your country who can assist you with your application.

In order to support our long-term commitment and close relationships in Macau, our staff provide tailored counselling and assistance to prospective students and their parents on all aspects of studying at the University of Hertfordshire and the UK, including advice on application processes and documentation, pre-departure briefings, assistance with visa applications and help with securing University accommodation.

Regional qualifications and entry requirements

For the majority of our programmes, we typically accept the following qualifications from Macau:

Certificado de Ensino Secundario Complementar with;
70% for 112 UCAS points
75% for 120 UCAS points
80% for 128 UCAS points
85% for 136 UCAS points

Maths at 65% is required for all courses.

IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band.
Undergraduate (year 2/3)There are no agreed progression routes, but if you're interested in applying to the University after part completion of a degree or completion of a diploma, applications will be individually assessed.IELTS 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band.
Pre-mastersNo agreed routes in place - please send in information about your qualifications when you apply and the Admissions Team will review on a case by case basis.IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in any band.
Postgraduate taughtNo agreed routes in place - please send in information about your qualifications when you apply and the Admissions Team will review on a case by case basis.IELTS 6.0 or 6.5 (depending on course) with no less than 5.5 in any band.
