Hertfordshire Sports Village provides a variety of sport teams that you can join and play for. It occasionally acts as host for many other sporting events including netball games covered by Sky Sports.
Out and about
There are a wide range of areas nearby the University of Hertfordshire with fantastic sports stadiums and facilities for many different sports.
If you’re a football fan, the nearest premier league club to us is Watford FC, who play at a stadium called Vicarage Road. The local football team, St Albans City Football Club, is only a 10-minute drive away. There are a huge number of stadiums you can go and see in London including, The Emirates Stadium (Arsenal), The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (Tottenham Hotspur), Stamford Bridge (Chelsea), London Stadium (West Ham), Craven Cottage (Fulham) and many more.
London is also home to many other sports venues. At the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, you’re rarely far away from the action, with an athletics stadium, a velodrome, an aquatics arena, the copper box arena and of course the Orbit, where you can ride the slide to the bottom.
Other venues include, Twickenham Stadium where the national rugby team play their matches, Lords where the national cricket team play their matches, Wimbledon where you can catch some tennis, Kempton Park for some horse racing and finally Wembley Stadium where the national football team play their games, but you can often find boxing and other sporting events occurring at Wembley.
