Steve Swann
News gathering and producing
Steve Swann is a Senior Producer with BBC News, overseeing investigations into terrorism, national security and crime. For 14 years he has worked for Newsgathering, supplying stories across BBC News output (TV, radio and online). He edited the BBC’s unique online project ‘Who are the Jihadists?’ which tracked the hundreds of British people caught up in the conflict in Syria and Iraq. For almost a year he worked as part of a global collaboration into the Paradise Papers offshore leak and produced a Panorama programme exposing how a Ukrainian crime gang was using London to money launder.
Steve has also had stints on Newsnight and Today. Before that he worked in BBC regional TV and local radio. One of the hardest jobs he ever did was producing a Drivetime show with the former children’s entertainer, Timmy Mallet.
