Applied statistical modelling of discrimination and bias

Led by Prof. Diana Kornbrot, Prof. Michael Page and Dr. George Georgiou, the main thrust of this work is building models of decision making that explicitly include the criterion biases of the decision makers. The decisions include both perceptual tasks such as detecting a cancer cell on an x-ray and social tasks such as detecting whether an individual is ‘friendly’.

Kornbrot is particularly committed to Open Access for data, as well as publications and makes use of previously published/deposited data.

A current project funded by the Experimental Psychology Society looks specifically at studies that report results of signal detectability experiments in social and cognitive psychology.
