Applicant Day

You’re always welcome to visit again, and we recommend it for your Applicant Day! This event is exclusively for applicants. You’ll get in-depth information about your course and the chance to meet your classmates. Now that you are further along your application journey, you’re likely to have more questions, so it’s always worth a second visit.

We hope you can make it along to your Applicant Day as this event is tailored for you. But if not, you are always welcome to come to our April Open Day or book on to a campus tour.

Your guests will have a separate programme for the morning so that you can experience your course and meet other applicants, and your guests can learn more about Herts, or just go and get a coffee. You’ll meet back up after lunch to spend the afternoon together.

No, you will need to attend to experience taster sessions.

Yes! If you look round and love a certain campus book on the day.

No! Lunch will be supplied by us! Once your session or talk has finished our ambassadors will take you to either the The Forum restaurant or The Refectory depending on where your session is based. Please do let us know of any dietry requirements.

Our visits are held across our College Lane and de Havilland Campuses: the Where to Find Us page can help with planning your journey. If you are planning to use public transport, we are well connected and run a free regular campus shuttle bus from Hatfield train station during open days.

Free bus travel

As well as the travel bursary, we are also offering free travel across the UNO bus network for travel to and from the Applicant Day. Just book your place and you’ll receive your travel voucher. Please visit the UNO bus and Arriva to plan your journey.

Travel reimbursement

As an applicant or offer holder attending the University of Hertfordshire Applicant Day, you may be eligible to receive travel reimbursement for mileage traveled by car from your home to the University of Hertfordshire’s College Lane campus, subject to the terms and conditions. Please go to our free travel page. You will find out all the forms and information you need to apply. When you are here there is plenty of parking available on campus and it is free to all visitors (no ticket required).

Whether you're thinking of living on campus or commuting would be more suitable for your circumstances, ensure you find out as much information as you can to help make your decision. Our staff and student ambassadors can help answer questions about campus facilities, the surrounding area, and what the transport links are like.

There is disabled parking available on both of our campuses, located in car park B at College Lane and in marked bays in car park Dh1 on de Havilland. Please ensure your blue badge is displayed for the duration of your visit.

Yes, there will be professional photography taking place at our events for marketing purposes; if you do not wish to be featured, please speak to a member of the team on the day.
