Creative Arts research degrees
The School of Creative Arts offers research degrees at Masters (MA/MSc) and Doctoral (PhD) level, including professional doctorates in Fine Art (DFA) and Design (DDes).
All research degrees can be undertaken on a full or part-time basis and prospective students come from a wide range of backgrounds. Some follow academic or professional careers, while others are typically practising artists, designers or educators, who wish to develop their practice to an advanced level.
Whatever your background and aspirations, our research degree programmes offer a springboard to explore your ideas with our world-leading research staff and the opportunity to develop your professional career in a friendly and supportive academic community.
As a research student, you will be supported by a team of supervisors and are strongly encouraged to take part in the School’s wide range of research activities, become a member of one of our research groups and be part of our active research community.
You will also benefit from the wide range of support facilities offered by the University’s Doctoral College and have access to an extensive researcher development programme to develop your research skills and enhance professional opportunities.
