Practice Placements

Our radiography courses are supported by over 30 affiliated hospital sites located in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, London, East Midlands and South Central regions. You will be allocated a base NHS trust for the duration of the course where you will undertake practice placements and there will also be opportunities for elective placement to more specialist facilities to allow every student to gain experience of a wide range of injuries and pathologies.

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust

Provides health and social care for people with mental and physical ill health and those with learning disabilities across Hertfordshire.

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust

Looks after patients in community settings such as health centres and GP Practices and in people’s own homes across the county.

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust

Provides a wide range of hospital services including emergency and diagnostic care, inpatient, outpatient, maternity and specialist services.

West Hertfordshire Hospital NHS Trust

Provides acute health care services to a core catchment population of approximately half a million people living in West Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas

Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust

Provides a full range of general acute outpatient and diagnostic services across three busy hospitals

Essex Partnership Foundation University NHS Trust

Provides community health, mental health and learning disability services throughout Bedfordshire, Essex and Suffolk

Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust

Provides a wide range of mental health specialist services including children's and young people's mental health services, prison services, forensic services, eating disorders and drug and alcohol recovery

East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust

Provides accident and emergency services for people in need of urgent medical treatment and transport in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

London Ambulance Service NHS Trust

Provides patients with the highest quality care and contribute towards Londoners having health outcomes among the best in the world.

Placements are offered within the NHS (in hospitals, clinics and/or the community) and also across the private/voluntary and Independent sector (private hospitals/sports clinics/football clubs/hospices and charities). Students will be working across a range of specialities and across a range of locations to enhance their experience and employability prospects.

Final year students can request a speciality of their choice which the allocations team try to meet if possible.

We provide voluntary and statutory placements in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and North London.

Currently practice placements take place in nine accredited cancer centres in Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Hampshire, London, Middlesex, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Wiltshire.
