Centre for STEM Education
We sit within the School of Education and offer continuing professional development (CPD) programmes for science, technology, engineering, computing and mathematics (STEM) educators. Our CPD draws on cutting edge research and practice from across the university.
The Centre has strong links with local schools and colleges, as well as STEM stakeholders and businesses. We are proud to coordinate the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) UK programme, which in 2024 brought over 300 people together to learn key skills in biotechnology and engage in discussion with their peers. In addition, the Centre for STEM Education delivers our own specially curated CPD programme, which includes primary science online network meetings, primary computing CPD, and in-person Leader as Coach training and mentoring sessions.
