UH Arts + Culture is the public arts centre at the University of Hertfordshire, bringing a rich arts and culture programme to our campus and local communities. We share the best visual arts, live arts, music, film, design and media across our university sites, in Hatfield and St Albans. Collaborating with artists and performers, we commission and present ambitious and relevant work, informed by research. We seek to engage the public as audience members, participants and active co-producers. Reaching across our county, we are committed to strengthening Hertfordshire’s arts and cultural offer with our partners.
Established in 1994 to raise the cultural profile of the University, this year marks our 30th Anniversary. Enjoy this vibrant look back at the past 30 years of UH Arts + Culture, charting the evolution of the arts and cultural activities produced by the University of Hertfordshire.
Live Arts
Our live arts programme offers an inspirational mix of performance, music, media and film. Selecting the best work from national and international companies and practitioners, we host performances at the Weston Auditorium, Art + Design Gallery and pop-ups across our campuses. We are proud to support our resident orchestra: de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra.
Visual Arts
Our visual arts programme offers artists the space to experiment and develop new ideas. Working with emerging and established creatives, we initiate a series of exhibitions, residencies, commissions and pop-ups, informed by research.
