We’re delighted to introduce one of four winners of our ‘And Breathe’ music competition - Lapsung and Natsuki Uemura.
This short performance focuses on breathing as a physical form, movement of the lungs and the diaphragm as a core theme. Playing on themes of anxiety, stress and the unpredictability of the chest muscles in situations provoked by these sensations.
Lapsung - ..and breathe?

About Lapsung
Student in Music Composition and Technology for Film and Games at the University of Hertfordshire.
Lapsung is Matt Davies , electronic artist and composer. His unique mix of abrasive beats, dream-like textures and fusion of artificial intelligence and organic instrumentation has gained the attention of renowned artists and labels across the globe.
"Rather than be a sympathetic nod to those affected, including myself, by breathing difficulties during anxious episodes, the piece is intended to ‘rip off the band-aid’ in exposing these sensations to those that play-off anxiety and panic attacks as an overreaction. The sound selections used in the music are panned and adjusted in order to trigger sensations and breathing patterns in the listener (especially with headphones)."
And Breathe was created in collaboration with Herts SU, University of Hertfordshire's Music Department, and UH Arts.
