Beethoven Unwrapped with conductor Robin Browning

In our March Concert, we’re delighted to offer you a new venture – Beethoven Unwrapped!

  • Beethoven – Coriolan Overture
  • Beethoven – Symphony No. 6, Pastoral

The first half of the concert opens with Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, composed in 1807 for a play by Heinrich Joseph von Collin, telling the tragic story of a 5th century Roman general in Beethoven’s typically dramatic musical style.

Conductor Robin Browning will then explore Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, number 6 in F, going ‘behind the scenes’ of this very programmatic music, by unwrapping it with musical excerpts.

The Orchestra will then give a complete performance of the work in the second half of the concert.

Join us for this unwrapping of the much-loved work by one of the towering figures in the history of music!
