Canvas Quizzes
Canvas is the University's Learning Management System, and it currently includes two systems for administering quizzes. Quizzes combine the ability to deliver sets of questions that are automatically or manually marked whilst also controlling student access. They can be used for formative or summative assessment so provide a range of reports and integrate with the Gradebook.
Setting up a Canvas quiz
This section covers all you need to know about creating a summative or formative quiz. It also includes setting up quiz 'Options' and ' Quiz restrictions' and setting up quiz 'Assign to:' and 'Due:', ''Available from:' and 'Available to:'. It also explains how to add extra time and/or attempts in a Canvas quiz
Adding questions to a Canvas quiz
This section covers creating questions and testing/previewing created questions. It explores the different questions types in a quiz and how to create and use question banks. It also covers how to randomise the order of quiz questions.
Managing quizzes in Canvas
This section covers adding a previously created quiz to a unit and removing a quiz from a unit. It also covers duplicating a quiz and explores best practice for using this feature.
Lockdown Browser
This section covers running secure Canvas quizzes using LockDown Browser. It includes how to configure Canvas quiz settings to require the use of LockDown Browser and adding "Secure Quizzes" to the module navigation in Canvas. It also covers running a secure quiz on campus.
