Teams Meetings

Microsoft Teams is a collaborative communication and teamwork platform developed by Microsoft. It is designed to facilitate remote collaboration and communication among team members in real-time for 1,000 attendees and broadcasts (view only). The platform provides users with a range of tools for chatting, audio and video conferencing, file sharing, and project management.

Teams Meetings can be accessed via a desktop application, the web (log into Office.herts.ac.uk using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge) or via a mobile app, however, we recommend using the desktop application for the best experience.

Further Information
Software Licences: Teams is part of the University’s Office 365 suite of applications.
Integrations: Currently Teams Meetings has basic integration with Canvas but this is under development by Microsoft and Canvas. This integration allows a link to be generated to run a live session with your whole cohort.
Accessibility: For more information please see Teams's Accessibility Overview. Teams has the live captions option as well as transcript features and an immersive reader. Live synchronous sessions (Teams or Zoom) that are recorded and published on StudyNet , 14 days or more after the live session took place, are required by law to meet accessibility guidelines. This means adding captions or providing a suitable alternative such as a transcript. Live video recordings less than 14 days old are exempt from this legislation.
