The OP4RE Erasmus+ project ran between 2017 to 2019 investigated the possibility of offering online remote proctored examination as a way forward to provide opportunities for students to take the exams remotely from home. The project involved six HE institutions within UK, Europe, and a technology service project collaborating to establish guidelines and rules on how online remote examination can offer a secured procedure for examination. The project studies amongst others security and privacy aspects, practical procedures, protocols, student experiences and comparability of test results. Colleagues from UH’s Department of Computer Science and LTIC explored how to communicate best practices in monitoring the remote and proctored exam processes. The goal is to support HEIs in their quest in mitigating threats to exams being vulnerable to fraud and security risks.
