Suspension and Withdrawal of Programmes
Withdrawing or suspending a programme or part of a programme requires completion of an ADC5 Withdrawal form or ADC7 Suspension form. The forms are available to staff on the ADC website:
ADC5 Withdrawal form and ADC7 Suspension form
Completed forms should be sent to the relevant Academic Services Officer (Academic Quality Assurance) in order that they may be checked, logged and distributed across the University.
All withdrawal and suspension forms need to comply with the deadline of the last UH working day of December, to meet with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) regulations. If forms are received after this date they may not be processed as there can be considerable impact on UCAS applicants, as detailed in the CMA Guidance. The chart below details the outcomes for withdrawal and suspension forms received before and after the deadline.
Form | Received | Action/ Outcome |
---|---|---|
ADC5 | Received before end of December for a programme with start date of September (new academic year) | Can be sent for signing off and actioned. |
ADC5 | Received from January onwards for a programme with start date of September (new academic year) | Should not be withdrawn (unless exceptional circumstances) as too close to the start date of the programme and will cause issues for UCAS applicants. Most likely that these programmes will have to run and be withdrawn the following year. |
ADC7 | Received before end of December for a programme with start date of September (new academic year) | Can be sent for signing off and actioned. |
ADC7 | Received from January onwards for a programme with start date of September (new academic year) | Should not be suspended (unless exceptional circumstances) as too close to the start date of the programme and will cause issues for UCAS applicants. Most likely that these programmes will have to run for the current academic year and be withdrawn the following year. |
This means that ADC5 and ADC7 forms received after December 24th can't be processed until the following academic year and the programme/ route will have to run.
